Brittany Dalziel is the founder of Lotus Tree Wellness and Healing. She is a Registered Massage Therapist and Yoga instructor.
“I’ve always been interested in the human body,” confesses Dalziel, citing childhood gymnastics as the source of her intrigue.
“I always loved doing handstands and seeing the different things you could make your body do,” she says.
Her interest for anatomy never left her. In 2007, Dalziel attended the Western College of Remedial Massage Therapies in Regina.
Shortly after, Dalziel started doing Yoga DVDs at home and quickly realized she wanted to bring it to Carlyle.
“I actually didn’t have much yoga knowledge or practice before I decided to take my teacher training,” she admits. “I knew it was something I would love and wanted to learn from a guru before I taught myself all the wrong postures.”
Dalziel took the 200-hour Yoga Instructor’s course in 2013, at Qualicum Beach, British Columbia.
The best part of teaching yoga is watching the progression of her students.
“They change quickly,” she says. “At the end of the class, people walk out looking extremely happy and relaxed.
You can just tell they’re that much more relaxed than they were at the start of class.”
For Dalziel, the feeling of satisfaction is the same after giving a massage.
“Probably one of the best feelings is when you walk back into the room and they look like they’re just blank. They’re totally relaxed,” she says. “I like knowing that somebody’s just kind of melted on your table and relaxed.”
Brittany is available for treatments Monday through Thursday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm and Friday’s 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
